Richard Nicoll details (spring 2010)

Mmm, still loving Richard Nicoll's spring show. Just recently looked back at the detail photos & decided to use them as inspiration for a few DIY projects this spring. Brooches. Ribbons. Tassels. Oh my. Love every last tiny, fabulous, thoughtful, funky detail.

Cool pillowcases by Branch Handmade

Was scouring Etsy for Mother's Day gift ideas when I stumbled on the lovely Branch Handmade shop. Loving these cool, graphic pillowcases. But I really love how diverse the shop's selection is. Textiles range from super girlie to, well, not so much. Above are my favorites.

Artists currently featured @ FRANK

If you follow me, then you know I love working at FRANK. Best part (well, besides being surrounded by such beauty)? Getting acquainted with amazingly talented (local!) artists & their work. Above are some beautiful works by artists currently featured at FRANK.

Note: not all of these works are at FRANK, but some are. And if you haven't visited, you must. Unless you are far away. In that case I will forgive you only if you visit/support your local artists!

A few Wang things (à la Kohl's)

Was in Kohl's recently (gift card. holla!) when I stumbled on the latest Simply Vera collection. I'm not secretive about my love for Wang here (& here & here & here) but still, was super impressed.

I own several pieces from past collections. Although they are over-sized (some of Wang's XS items feel huge), I always get compliments & they are so so comfy! Aren't the separates above just lovely?

misc pretty things, just because

These images, all from We Heart It, have been sitting on my desktop for a few days now. No reason, really. Each just makes me smile. Thought I would share a little dose of pretty on this rainy day. Happy Wednesday everybody!

A little touch of hot pink...

...even when you're not wearing anything else pink (heck, especially when you're not wearing anything else pink) is just so right for spring. Exhibit A: these looks from the Matthew Williamson Spring 2010 show (as previously reported on here). So fun & happy, I find this look irresistible!

Iceland design festival favorites

Now for a dispatch from Iceland that doesn't involve volcanic ash, how it looks from space, etc. Above are a few of my favorites from the March 2010 festival. See Core77's complete coverage of the event here.

Spring accessorizing, the Oscar way

Know what I love most about the Oscar de la Renta spring 2010 show? The accessories. There is nothing minimalist about this look. Heavy, bold & beautiful is where it's at. If you love statement accessories (like moi), then your bright baubles, hats, hairties, etc need not take a spring break. I love that.

I would move to rural Alabama...

...if I could live here. Was anybody else blown away by the [simple] beauty of artist Butch Anthony's amazing 80-acre Alabama compound? When I saw the slide show in The New York Times a few days back I nearly flipped. The place is so serene & relaxed, yet stylish-to-death. View the complete slide show here.
