Behind the scenes @ Dwell

I'm a huge fan of behind-the-scene images (hello & remember me?), which is why I loved these images from behind the scenes at a recent Dwell shoot. Since I'm interested in everything art direction/styling-related, seeing these paper leaves be cut out by paper artists made me a little giddy. See the final feature here. View more behind-the-scenes images here.

LOFT scarves

Speaking of spring scarves, the 2 above, from Ann Taylor Loft are high on my wish list. I imagine them over denim paired with a cool fedora. So perfect.

Spring show flashback: the RL formula

I already blogged about the boyish, demin-heavy Ralph Lauren spring show. Denim, turns out, is shaping up to be the spring trend. PS-I made this... has a great denim DIY up + if you follow me on Twitter you know I'm obsessed with my recent thrift scores: a denim J. Crew skirt & Calvin Klein top. But I digress. I was also taken by what I think is the perfect formula for spring dressing (as seen at Lauren): cool hat + scarf + airy dress. So easy. So lovely.

Target does mod(-ish)

Design snobs: stop reading now. This post is not for you. Instead, it's for readers (like moi) who perk up when they see anything fabulously mid-century or modern on ebay, craigslist, or at the flea market only to be disappointed by how much 'authentic' costs. Sure, real is always better. But still. Nice to know Target (who knew?) can give us the look for less. Just an option.

New arrival Anthropologie bags

Above are a few of my favorites. And I would wear each of these year-round. They're just that perfect. I'm especially taken by the Cage & Free Tote (bottom, center). I want to wear it with layers of denim & flower dresses. With a nautical scarf tied around the handles & a flower pin attached to it. Love.

Banter Banners

Wow. Ten bucks (the price of 1 of these cool banners from Banter Banners) never looked so charming. Simple. Fun. Inexpensive. Removable. Stylish. What's not to love?

Bodysuits are baaaack...

...& I couldn't be more thrilled about it! I love tucking my tops into jeans & spring skirts. Bodysuits offer the clean, sharp look minus the fuss that comes with tucking, adjusting, smoothing, etc. Love that!

Horses by blissful images

Still loving blissful images on Etsy. My favorite fine art photographs from the shop, as of late, are the beautiful (stunning & breathtaking, if I may) photos featuring horses. There is something about the light. And the simplicity. Buy them here (for $27 ea).

Spring show flashback: Erdem in bloom

Another beautiful spring day inspired me to look back at the spring shows (presented in September) again. The gorgeous floral prints from the Erdem show just blow me away. So pretty. So perfect. I love every last detail. BTW: the Erdem fall show didn't disappoint either. Read my thoughts on it here.

Allen Frame favorites

Lately I've been really inspired by the work of New York-based photographer Allen Frame. These recent works by Frame (above) move me the most . The composition is my favorite part. They don't seem at all contrived, yet they're stunning. I love them all.

On my radar: my spring DIY project inspiration from the runways/retail

Luella's charmed classics (top)
pretty little additions to classic heels & bags, as seen at the spring Luella show, have inspired me to create charms for some of my own accessories

Bergdorf's blooming accessories (center)
this Valentino tote & Lanvin belt (from Bergdorf Goodman) make me want to doll up an inexpensive bag & belt with faux craft store blooms

Vera's wristware (bottom)
these bold (yet soft & feminine) bracelets from the spring Vera Wang show make me want to experiment with my glue gun, tulle, beads, brooches, etc

Spring show flashback: details @ Marc

Spring is here! Yes! What better time, then, to flashback to September 2009 (wow, has it been that long) to the spring runways? Here are a few of my favorite detail shots from the Marc by Marc Jacobs show. The pattern/stripe combo, belts & bows (the bows!) inspired me the most. Happy spring everybody!

A pretty spring DIY project

How perfect/pretty/simple is this DIY project from the Martha site? I love the thought of it on a nightstand, mantle or dining room table.

Made by my friend: Peggy's yoga bag

If you follow the blog, then you may remember the work of my über talented pal, Peggy. Above is a photo of 1 of her latest projects, a super cute yoga bag. So practical. So fabulous. I'm mad about it!

Persephone Vintage spring blazers

These blazers from Persephone Vintage (on Etsy) make me giddy not only because they each cost just $49, but because they are so versatile. I envision them worn open over jeans & tees, or belted over breezy sundresses. These blazers have the potential to be the perfect spring wardrobe staples.
