I can.

So, I made good on my DIY threat. Felt (also used in Marni's necklace) was $.99. Grommets finished the look. Biggest recommendation: tap your [mom's] '80s jewelry stash before purchasing anything new. That's where the good stuff is. PS: thanks ma, for helping with this. xoxo

inspired by this Marni necklace, stunning in its own right (purchase it, by all means, if you desire)

Can we talk about this trend?

On wearing flowers in your hair, I say go big or go home. Period.

Kelly Wearstler's Beach Pad

Wearstler wows again, this time in her own Malibu home. Loving the the '60s & '30s references. Not sure what it is about her's just so wrong that it's right. And always sexy. Oh, & you MUST view the complete slideshow, if only to check out the killer art collection.

Bottega Veneta Spring Necklaces

Remember those gorgeous necklaces on Bottega Veneta's fall runway? Well, the house did not disappoint with the jewelry on its spring runway. I'm especially taken by the top 2. Stunning, no?

Fendi rethinks the evening bag (again)

Leave it to Fendi to send models down its Milan runway with stunning clutches crafted from acrylic glass. Yes, glass. I'm not surprised by the ingenuity, though (hello, remember Fendi's baguette bag from '98?). Just impressed. And awestruck. And in love.

Simple = Chic in ATL home

Simple design concept revolving around stark walls + punchy graphics yields chic results in this Atlanta home. "The light…feels like magic," designer/owner Kay Douglass said of her home. I concur. View more photos of this beautiful home here.

Seriously Addictive Craft Blog Alert

I may need an intervention! Since discovering it here, I'm addicted to Pam Garrison's One Woman & Her Crafting Tales blog. Seriously. I wish I could climb in my screen & live in this blog. It is that good.

Pampered Puppy Photo Contests

Have an adorable, photogenic pet? One of my favorite sites, Pampered Puppy, has a monthly photo contest (above is 1 of the August winners). Awesome prizes. I check in monthly (at least) just to see these gorgeous submissions (+ fascinating articles, product reviews, etc)!

Pigtails @ Prada

Let's face it: Miuccia Prada is a VOGUE darling, so I have no doubt you'll see her Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection in the magazine's pages. So, I thought I would post beauty photos from the show. I'm IN LOVE with pigtails like these (+ deep sideparts) for fall. So charming!

Illustrator Andrea Wan

Perusing online designer portfolios when I stumbled on the work of Vancouver-based artist Andrea Wan. Love how the soft style of her work contrasts its strong social commentary. And, well, it's just so darn pretty. See more of Wan's work on her site.

Milan reminds me why I love fashion

It is fun. And happy. With all the bullshit problems going on in the world right now, fun & happy are, well, refreshing. The Moschino Cheap & Chic (top) & Blumarine (bottom) spring collections were especially merry, I thought.

What $5,000 can do to 850-square-feet

Loving this loft makeover from The New York Times. The after is breezy & uncluttered despite all the stuff. My favorite tip? Keeping the sleeping nook neutral by facing all the book spines to the living room. Ingenious! View the complete article/interactive feature here.

I want it all.

As in every single piece from the Luisa Beccaria Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection (view it here). Whites, pastels, florals. Plus tons of dresses sure to inspire those classic from-runway-to-wedding blogland posts. Oh, & not a pant in site. Love that.

Blushing Burberry Trenches

Burberry Prorsom's classic trench just got girlier. These 2 gems were presented at the house's Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection (view it here) in London earlier this week. Love them.

Wearable Art

The shirt Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the Burberry party a few nights ago + this fabulous D&G Dolce & Gabbana silk organza skirt please both the art historian & fashion lover in me. If this is becoming a trend, consider me onboard!

Must get your paws on the latest issue of Marie Claire Maison magazine ASAP (above is a peak inside to hold you over). Both rooms are making me seriously reconsider my hatred of white walls. Stunning, non?

My Personal Fall/Winter 2009 Style Inspiration

Justify FullAli MacGraw. 1970. Love Story. Period.

I think I can... $1,745.00 by making my own necklace & skirt inspired by these NET-A-PORTER new arrivals. So, that's that; I have my weekend DIY project. Will post updates next week.

D&G Dolce & Gabbana skirt ($450) & Marni necklace ($1,295)

Etsy Haute

Sure, Etsy is good for white nesting pottery, knitted acorns, carousel photographs, etc, but I recently scoured the site for really awesome, unique, high-end fashion. That's when I fell in love with LedThread (top row) & Nicole Gade (bottom row). Swoon. Great or what?

To usher in the fall I count down my top 10 reasons for loving this season below. Happy fall everybody! Hope it's a great 1!

#10: Cake & Candles

So, I'm an October baby, & I love nothing more than marking the occasion with a low-key celebration with family + some sweets (of course). These photos are pretty much my style when it comes to birthdays. Simple & pretty does it.

#9: Halloween with Martha Stewart

OK, well maybe not actually with her. But, truly, of all the holidays she designs crafts for, I love her Halloween stuff the best. The scary silhouette going up the stairs is ingenious, jellyfish costume awesome, & theme buffet darling. And her site is full of other great ideas.

#8: Swank Booties

Loving these great styles (all from Barneys).
