Your basic T-shirt just got fabulous. Wear these with everything! Get them from ELIZA + AXEL's Etsy shop.

Breakfast at MoMA with Mom

If you're going to be in or around NYC for Mother's Day, consider this event: Mother's Day at MoMA. Breakfast inside before the museum opens (berries w/ mascarpone, deviled eggs w/ caviar, grilled eggplant/sundried tomato tart, among other buffet items) & a tour of the museum. Sounds just perfect! Get details here.

I need 1 of each, please

I'm so in love with Holly Stalder's shrugs & capelets...check out her Etsy shop for more info. I'm thinking 1 of these + camisole + jeans + heels. So perfect!

Sunday Read: "Generation Me" by Raina Kelley

Will start posting reads each Sunday. Goal: eventually post my work here, with an interesting read from the Web.

Today's Newsweek article explores my generation's narcissism & how the recession might be a humbling experience. Read it here.

Style Inspiration: Working with kids!

This look is inspired by my own calendar; I'm spending the afternoon volunteering at the Ackland (there's the Family Fun Tour & Story Illustration for Kids, both free, so come on out if you're local). The look: combination of practical pieces (flats, denim, tote) with strong punches of color (since kids usually respond to this). Just a fun, easy look!

Weekends Are For Weddings

Up early this morning competing in this race & I must say, I'm in love with this warm weather. I think this is reflected in today's inspiration boards; they're downright outdoorsy...

[Stately] Backyard Affair

Black, white & green was the foundation with barely blush (including the bride's gown) accents. Very fresh, simple & stylish.

Natural Elegance

My favorite kind of elegance: the kind that appears effortless. Doesn't aim to shock or impress, just good, plain, elegant, chic. Plums, browns, greens, b & w & a touch of lemon. It's all very natural & organic feeling. Love.

Happy Friday!

Stop by tomorrow for another Weekends are for Weddings post. In the meantime, here are the bridal images that most inspired me this week:
Stephanie Pfriender Stylander photos from the Bride's feature, "Color Forms." Happy Friday! xoxo

Style Inspiration: Meet the Parents!

Wrapping up this week's what to wear on a date theme...Boy meets girl. Boy falls for girl. Boy introduces girl to parents. This look would work perfectly for dinner with his folks at the upscale, downtown Italian restaurant. Silhouette is a classic & the colors lend personality.

Suitable for Summer

I recently took another look at the Spring shows presented back in Sept/Oct. Loved these suiting looks. The formula: bright jacket + same color bottom + contrasting top. Here are some examples...

Skater Pad

The owners of this San Francisco Victorian (avid skateboarders) seem fun & their simple, yet stylish home reflects this. One of their bathrooms is even designed to look like an empty pool (aka: a skater's dream). Love it.

Read the accompanying story & check out more images here.

Speaking of glue guns...

Did that last post remind anyone else of glue gun maverick Marian McEvoy? Did me. Love her. If you haven't checked out her book, you should. Immediately.

Shell Crazy!

In need of a DIY gift idea? This frame uses up all those imperfect shells you've collected.

Speaking of shells, these bathroom walls were done using store-bought shells & a glue gun. A total gem of a room for a sea lover like myself! See more shell projects here.

Witty China

This "Roaches on My Cup & Saucer" set from Bailey Doesn't Bark's Etsy shop made me laugh.

Talk about a conversation starter for your next party! Love these! Life's too short not to have a sense of humor!

Also, check out the Bailey Doesn't Bark Web site for other great pieces!

Style Inspiration: Date at the dog park!

Continuing this week's date theme...a fun, casual look to wear for a dog park meet up (because the pooch's approval is mandatory).
