If you're going to be in or around NYC for Mother's Day, consider this event: Mother's Day at MoMA. Breakfast inside before the museum opens (berries w/ mascarpone, deviled eggs w/ caviar, grilled eggplant/sundried tomato tart, among other buffet items) & a tour of the museum. Sounds just perfect! Get details here.
She/he is turning 30 (or 40, or 50, whatever) & is celebrating with a blowout. Sip champagne & exchange stories in this luxe Sonia Rykiel dress. The stylish guest of honor will also appreciate the killer heels!
This look is inspired by my own calendar; I'm spending the afternoon volunteering at the Ackland (there's the Family Fun Tour & Story Illustration for Kids, both free, so come on out if you're local). The look: combination of practical pieces (flats, denim, tote) with strong punches of color (since kids usually respond to this). Just a fun, easy look!
My favorite kind of elegance: the kind that appears effortless. Doesn't aim to shock or impress, just good, plain, elegant, chic. Plums, browns, greens, b & w & a touch of lemon. It's all very natural & organic feeling. Love.
Wrapping up this week's what to wear on a date theme...Boy meets girl. Boy falls for girl. Boy introduces girl to parents. This look would work perfectly for dinner with his folks at the upscale, downtown Italian restaurant. Silhouette is a classic & the colors lend personality.
The owners of this San Francisco Victorian (avid skateboarders) seem fun & their simple, yet stylish home reflects this. One of their bathrooms is even designed to look like an empty pool (aka: a skater's dream). Love it.
